Hey - any mamas been to the Polar Express in Williams?

I'd love to hear about your experiences. I think we're going to go for the kids for our vacation this year. I know its only an overnight, but its been a tough year financially for us and $309 for the 4 of us to ride the train, spend the night in the hotel, dinner and breakfast? and see Santa? I think we're going to go for it and do a weekend camping trip this year since we can't pull off Disney or anything big like this.

Anyway, it looks really really cool and my kids adore the movie.
If you went, I'd love to hear about it

and if you have no idea what I'm talking about - here ya go:

We went the year before last. It was ok. A little bit hokey. The train ride is fairly quick. You are on the train for a bit, you go into this tiny wooden cut out village - really tiny - like 3 cut outs of a village and then you head home. On the way home, "Santa" makes his way through the cars and hands out bells to all the kids.

On the ride up you get some cookies and hot cocoa and they sing Christmas carols.

Other than the train, there isn't a whole lot to do. A few little shops, a room with some santa and Mrs. Clause type crafts, some light displays - other than that, not much to do.

The price includes meals and the food was pretty good. It's a buffet style restaurant.

All in all, it was fun but I think it's much more geared towards very young children.
