back on but heed the warning~ atlanta area mama july 4th

UPDATE AS OF JULY 2nd
okay lyl and i just started taking the hugs amounts of SA, so we should be okay. the 4th is back if - just dont let lyl lick you jic

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UPDATE AS OF JULY 1st (evening)
i am in the hospital with an enlarged spleen and liver due to mono. as of right now we are calling off the 4th celebration.
i am so bummed but the doc said even if they let me leave (depending on liver function tests) that i am to sit still for a few weeks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~
we will be having our annual 4th of july party (fireworks, food and fun) for anyone that wants to come over and hang out - children are of course welcome! as we get closer i will have more details. feel free to email me at madhousemauly at gmail dot com.

details so far:

people start arriving at 5-6pm
and leave around midnight
bring any food or drink you want to share (or keep to yourself)
adult beverages are allowed for those of age (we reserve the right to refuse to allow you to drive if we think you have had too much)
there will be smoking allowed only outside (usually in front of the house)
children are most welcome (our 11, 5.5 and almost 3 year old we be there)

things mamas should know (i put these on there because these are things i have heard mamas say they would want to know before attending)
~if the state of GA doesnt ban fireworks (like they did on memorial day) there will be LOTS of fireworks. that means a risk of fire and/or getting burned. please watch your children and yourself (we had one parent get burned last year when he was attempting to light a firecracker)
~we do have a trampoline (so if you dont allow your children to play on them, you might want to warn them beforehand), the trampoline does have the 5 foot netting wall and spring covers.
~we do not vaccinate our children, please let us know if your children have had vaxes recently
~we do have guns in our house (the ones not on our persons will be locked up)
~we have many friends coming that will have guns/weapons on their person, in their purses
~we (myself and my husbands friends) do talk like sailors, there will be cussing
~i have various horror movie stuff around, lots of movies, some posters, etc
~i have a huge cow hide on my family room floor (vegans prepare yourselves)
~anyone that is homophobic, racist or has a problem with people of varying religions might want to check any prejudices at the door.

wow thats sounds all crazy lol

really ~ we are kind people (im really not at all scary) and everyone usually has a great time, - no arguments or debates. there are no orgies (though there is often talk about one :sarcasm), no prolific drug use, no shootings or stabbings, etc. feel free to ask mamas that have been in our home, if you are unsure. megmama, korwynne, snugglbond, colesmama, oceana, earthrain, rebecca, mamaxt. or mamas i have met jami, emmalinesmama, marion, sweetnsour (i know there are more mamas i have met...)

UPDATED 06/25/2007
i wanted to warn you that security measures have had to be put in place as one of my close friends was the target of a failed bombing (the FBI intercepted the bomb before it arrived at my friends house, before it could harm himself or his family and the person that sent it is in custody).

if you are coming to my house on the 4th, or thinking about it, please let me know so i can put your name and the names of your family/friends on the list. also i understand if this influences your wanting to attend.

hmmm will have to talk to hubby about a july trip to atl. We will have to see if we have the cash-- I just found out that we are going to have to put a roof on the house <sigh>. If we find a hotel in atl, how far out would you be? July 4 is an anniversary of sorts for us ( suppose you would call it a dating anniversary ), so we always like to try for something fun. My other problem is that my kids go to bed early usually, so it would kind of depend on that too. hmmm

canton is about 45 miles from atlanta. i would offer up our house but i think were going to be full
not sure if this link will work, but it should show where canton is
Canton, GA, USA - Google Maps

if it doesnt work just type in canton, ga or 30114 as the zip

New to this board, but not to most of you....CAnton might be a bit far (we live downtown ATL) but it sounds like fun.....might be up for it. Will keep my eye out here.....

And an open invitation to anyone who wants to go to the zoo ever. We're always up for a trip to the zoo (6 blocks from here).

I'm not sure what we're doing, but that would be great. Since I can't figure out any other way to see you.

Hmm, sounds fun. I would love to see a bunch of Amity mamas together in one spot. What time? My kids are not late night kids, so if its an early afternoon thing, we might be able to stop by. Details, please!

well i cant say it will be a bunch of amitymamas, so far the only ones that have said they would be there (and were pretty sure about it) were kas/cincodemama and sharon/earthrain. unfortunately we wont be starting until around 5-6 (because we cant do fireworks during the daylight) and it will close down around midnight.

at his point in time we are waiting to hear from the city as to if we will be allowed to shoot off fireworks (it was forbidden on memorial day because of the drought), if we cant shoot fireworks people are still welcome to come, but it wont be as exciting (as my husbands gamer friends buy $600 worth of fireworks for the party).
