emmy is the wonderful gal who came to the hospital to act as my doula, and held the phone up so my dh could hear his little girl being born.

her baby is very ill, all local hospitals are out of options. she needs to go to john's hopkins hospital the appt has been set for 6 weeks from now.

she is only able to take in about 3 oz a day of pediasure (via tube), and is not able to maintain her weight as such. she has already had surgery for her extreme reflux. a good week is one in which she takes in 2 bites of food, and doesn't gag it all back up. her stomach lining is eaten away by all the acid.

she is one ill little girl.

they are doing another barium study (has already had several)

at jhh- they want to do a mobility study to see how the muscles contract, because they dont feel the food is going down. it isn't getting digested.

she has to come up with 2800 $ by then to even get the process started. the baby (ana) will be in a very long time. small eating problems have their patients admitted for 60 days. she will be there for MUCH longer. she has sc medicaid, but they wont cover it because jh is out of state. jh has a patient assistance program, but it wont help because they arent residents of maryland. ana is the youngest of 4 children- and not the only one with special needs.

a mutual friend of ours is trying to get a fund started to help out at bank of america, but she won't hear anything else till at least tomorrow.

this same friend also has it arranged already with the angel network to get emmy and ana flown up there and back. has contacted shriners (they can't do anything) the lions club etc. the united way

i am typing one-handed and know i am likely leaving out tons of details.

please, please pray for emmy (mom) ana, shea (daddy) isabelle, bayden, and emily(siblings)
