I would be interested in joining in. Placemats would be a fun project. Can I have 2 slots? That's 2 sets of four, right? Can I have mine matching?

Preferences: Earth Tones/Subduded colors. Nothing too flashy.

Thanks,
Jeannine

Yay, someone to swap with!

To clarify, you're just wanting placemats, not napkins...correct?

I wouldn't be against napkins. Just let me know how many. Should they coordinate with my placemats?

I'm the new Home Dec Guru at the JoAnn's Supercenter in Albany, NY. So, I get a fat discount on fabric! I usually leave work foaming at the mouth because I want to take all the fabric home with me. :P

Hey Jeannine - looks like it's me and you mama! I would love a set of 8matching napkins with placemats and can do the same for you. Actually even a coordinating set works, doesn't have to match fabric to fabric, kwim?

I also wanted 2 additional sets of napkins if you're up for that. The two sets don't have to match, and you're not obligated if you don't want to! Just let me know.

I've wondered if a job like that is a substitute for some other, less socially acceptable vice? Sounds divine, and dangerous!

I'll swap with you, sure.

I can handle a set of 8, placemat/napkin combos. There is a HUGE sale this weekend, so I think I'm going to be going back to work on my day off. Muahahahahaha!

Well, you're one step ahead of me. :P I have the fabric washed and ready to cut. I am turning my kitchen pantry into a laundry room and my water was shut off to work on the plumbing.

I, too, will do my best to get them out to you asap.

All finished! I will ship tomorrow... hopefully they will get there in time for Thanksgiving.

So sorry I'm shipping so late. I've been so busy lately and tend to make things more difficult than they need to be. But, I was glad for the opportunity to work on my quilting skills. I'm still learning, so I hope you don't mind the mistakes. :P

Hey mama, I'm hoping to ship tomorrow too! My sewing machine is not behaving properly so I had to change my original plans but I hope you're happy! I think they turned out beautiful.

Wow Jeannine!!! My placemats are beauuuuuutiful!!! You did a very nice job on them and I *love* the colors and print you picked!!! Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!

I'm afraid yours are a bit less "fancy" due to my sewing machine issues, but I hope you're pleased with the fabrics anyway. Please let me know when they arrive.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! I love them. Thank you so much. This was fun, I'm glad we decided to do the swap. I really like the fabrics, they are actually going to go perfect in my dining room.

I have a technical question for you.... How did you square off your corners on the serger? I'm still learning on my serger. I read the instructions, but I still messed up on a few of the corners of the napkins. Any tips? Yours are so neat and square!

Oh I'm so glad you like them...the fabric was so pretty, so while not technically an "earth" color like red, brown or yellow, they seemed so perfect. Laura/goonboy assured me they were earthy and beautiful too.

As for the corners, I serge up one side all the way off the end, cut the threads and start again on the end corner and do the same all the way around. Then you take a large eye needle, thread it and weave the end threads back into the serging one the corner edge then snip. That "locks" the end thread and you get perfect corners. I have never even attempted to turn a corner on the serger.

Thanks for a great swap mama, anytime you want to just LMK!
