Will someone give me the low down on Ottobre?

I'm just getting back into sewing pretty regularly and as I've been lurking around here the past few days, I've noticed the term "Ottobre" floating around. I did a search and see that it's a magazine and they also do some free printables too. Is there anything else I should know about them?

Also, I see a subscribtion to the zine is 36 euro for 5 issues (4 kids + 1 women's).......approx. how much is that in U.S. $$?

Does anyone here subscribe to the zine? If so, do you just LOVE it?

How did you subscribe? Was it online through this link http://www.ottobredesign.com/en/index.html ?

Thanks a 1,000,000!
Peace, Love & Stitches,
Meleah

Hello Meleah,

You will LOVE Ottobre! I subscribe, and I think there are several others here who do too. The patterns are awesome. Regular kids patterns seem so boring after you've sewn a few Ottobre patterns.

36 Euro is equal to about $45 US dollars.

To subscribe click on the link you posted and then click on Subscribe. You get to choose a free gift with your subscription...I highly recommend choosing one of the back issues. There are many excellent ones. I think my personal favorite is 4/2004.

If you would like to see lots of lovely clothes people have made using Ottobre patterns, go to www.PatternReview.com and search Ottobre. If it only brings up a few results, then click on "Ottobre Design" listed under Pattern Company on one of the results. That will bring up a very very long list of results.

Or join this yahoo group (definitely do it if you will be subscribing):

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ottobre-english/

You are going to be so glad you subscribed. You may even find yourself ordering many back issues.

I LOVE ottobre, it's the best decision I made...pattern-wise ROFL...and I only subscribed after making a post similar to yours a year or so ago ROFL.

It ROCKS, the patterns rock, the inspriation, the great "finished" look of the outfits, nothing bad to say about it!!!

I LOVE my Ottobre magazine. I own them all now expcept for the very first issue. Most of what I sew comes from them. I have never been unhappy with anything that I have made from them.

I think the boxer pattern is 4/04. Nice boxers too. I have made many for both Gavin and for Emilianne.

Just by way of FYI....the thing that 'sold' me on the magazine (aside from the COUNTLESS raves LOL) was going to the website and looking through the issues...you can view what's in them, and once I saw them, that's all it took

I have them all except the first issue now too! And I think I've used them all except for 2 so far.

Subscribing has been one of the best sewing "investments" I have made. I don't buy other patterns anymore really!

Okay....one more Ottobre question???

For the ladies who have almost all the issues.....

Has there been an issue that has something like these?

http://luckywang.com/products.htm

Specifically, the kimono top and *wide leg* pants. I wouldn't mind a pattern similar to the mandarin top either though

I do have the New Look #6333, but it only goes up to 4T and I'd like to make some tops and pants like these for my 5 y.o.

Thanks Mamas!
