I have this flannel.. http://www.borntoquilt.com/catalog/images/mbF2242.jpg and I want to back it with minkee and make a blankie for Atticus. I have a yard piece and I'm looking for a yard of minkee. The thing is that I'm really hoping to find black. I think the red minkee is too bright because the kanji is in a dark red. I can't find black instock though. I know they make it. Any leads?

I love that fabric - I was so bummed that it pilled rapidly. I wish they'd make it in a woven or knit.

I know it pills and that sucks, maybe I'll just make pants out of it since I won't need them to last as long. I still want to make a cool blanket with minkee. I love how soft it is.

Well, if it's a blanket it might not be washed *so* often that it will wear. It's the darned cutest fabric, IMO.

However, the 2 layer minkee blankets that I made (actually taggies, mostly) by doing patches of two colors were SO SO SO awesome and went together very nicely.

Hmm patchy minkee..in orange, black and yellow would be really cute. So is the fabric a pain to work with? For some reason I think it would leave fuzz all over the place where the raw seams are, well until I serge it anyhow.

Oh the latte, caramel and espresso colors would look awesome together! Thanks for linking to that site.

It fuzzes when you cut it, but after you shake it off it's good to go. It didn't fuzz up my machine at all, which was good. It has this icky backing that's very poly-feeling and I think that helps it not to fall apart further.

It's one of the easiest fabrics I've worked with, next to wovens. I really loved it.

I wanted to do a royal blue and lime green patchy one, but I need to order more Minkee.
