Here is a simple t-shirt from KS Sewing for Children. Instead of doing a ribbed collar, I just folded the neck edge in 3/8 inch and coverstitched it for a wider-necked look. I received this striped interlock in a trade. I'm not sure what color shorts I should make to go with it. The shirt has red, pink, orange, and yellow stripes. I think I have solid fabric in all those colors. I wonder what would look best?
And here is another tank top from Ottobre 2/2005 (size 140). I used an awesome soft, stretchy cotton/lycra stripe that I actually found at Wal-Mart a couple years ago. I bought all they had! The fabric has four way stretch, so for interest, I cut the binding parallel to the selvedge so the stripes would be opposite (at least at the neck). The cropped pants are made from a soft drapey twill from
www.fabricmartfabrics.com (came in a bottomweights bundle). Pattern is the basic pants pattern from KSSFC, shortened by five inches.
Thanks for looking!
