Nah, who cares how much fabric I have...why would I want to get *RID* of it?
Yes, please! My stash is out of control and I need to reduce it. We're moving in a year and I HAVE to reduce my stash before then...and it's going to take me the whole year sewing as much as I can to do it.
I would donate a prize of some sort to this contest.

Oh, gosh - I don't have much of a stash so it makes it a real challenge to do this for me
But, I think they're fun so if y'all want to do one, don't let me stop you
Stash game will start December 5th and run through January 5th.
Fabric purchased before the Stash Game and received during the Stash Game counts as stash, not as negative points. This includes fabric ordered, but not paid for (ie, from a co-op).
Fabric purchased during Stash Game, but not received until after the Stash game, counts against you.
Sewing from personal stash counts, but sewing from business stash does not count, only if you differentiate.
+8 per yard sewn from stash
+4 per yard sold from stash
+4 per yard given away from stash
+4 per yard thrown away
-8 per yard bought during Stash Game
+4 per yard sewn from fabric purchased during stash game
+1 per type of notion used (interfacing, dye, fabric scrap, buttons, snaps, binding, bias tape, ribbing, rick-rak, zippers, stabilizer, etc.) Thread does not count as a notion!
+3 for ufo's
+1 for sewing something from your scrap basket into something, but no points for throwing away or donating.
Stretch lace counts as yardage.
+1 per for accessorising (matching hat with dress, etc.)
+1 for Charity
+1 per hoop for machine embroidery
Dying: Dye counts for +1 per garment, as if it was a notion.
Mending: No points for mending.
Quilts: If you quilt/bind/ aka finish a quilt during the stash game then the following would apply:
1) Backing counts as yardage
2) Batting counts as yardage
3) Binding counts as notion
4) Pre-patched fabric counts as yardage (this includes quilt tops completed before the beginning of the Stash Game as well as cheater pre-patch fabric)
5) Quilt pieced during the Stash Game counts as yardage.
Swaps: Receiving finished product in exchange for stash sewing does not count against you. Receiving yardage/notions/patterns for stash sewing DOES count against you.
Thrift store purchases: If you buy an article of clothing to turn into something else, then you calculate points based on the yardage the pattern requires.
Sew n shows: posting and sns of an item is worth 2 points per item, even if they are in the same thread. Accessories for an outfit are counted as part of the outfit for these points.

I think I will have sit out stash games, the only thing I make is for my business, and the yardages are so strange that it would be hard to keep track of. Thank you for posting the rules!
I know in the past that you have been able to count business sewing if you want to, you just have to count business purchases which can be a heavy hit
I'll donate a prize or two. I'm turning my stash over right now since I've aquired some beautiful knits that I just don't sew with and could stand to part with a flat rate box or two to clear some shelf space. I'd make something, but I know myself better than that and if I donate something that isn't made it won't get done until Yule
I'll donate a prize for one of the top 5 and something for the person with the most points earned who stil finishes with a negative or zero total.
Sewing from personal stash counts, but sewing from business stash does not count, only if you differentiate.
Is this the reason why you guys don't participate? I don't differentiate, so I have always played anyhow, even sewing for business...it's okay to sew for business, some people just want to keep them seperate because many times you have to buy fabric for the business and so it can give neg. points during the game, but if you don't mind that, you can still participate!! I am...the stash game's the only time I get a lot of sewing done for the business ROFL
I definitely think those of you who mostly/only sew for business should participate in the stash game (if you want to, of course). We have such a small group here now that I think we need to include any kind of sewing, not just personal.
I will donate an envelope of patterns (a surprise mix) to the winner (most points).
