Any Mamas with infants - help!

Hi
This is going to sound like a really odd request but I need the ankle measurement of a newborn or infant! I am making some booties for my friend's baby girl (6lb 9oz) and the McCalls pattern just says to cut the elastic to a comfortable size for a newborn. I have a similar Butterick pattern and the directions say measure the infant's ankle and add one inch. So if anyone has a little baby and the time to measure around the ankle, I would really appreciate it!!

Thank you
