On KS gown 3090 (or something similar) how can I narrow the shoulders a bit, I've heard they are wide/big at the neck/shoulders. Which part would I trim down?
|
For Kwik Sew 3090 It does seem big if you follow all the directions. I like to bind around the neck rather than the way they say to do it. It makes the neck Much more narrow by doing it that way.

KS Romper/Gown pattern with the lap shoulders, I'm wanting to convert this to a tshirt... will it work ok to just cut it off, and if so how long/where should I do that at?
|
It will be very wide if you make a tee shirt out of it. but you could cut it down and strait'in it up, KWIM? I like about 11ish inches (for preemie/newborn size) from center of FRONT neck to bottom of shirt for length (not including hem yet.)

On KS gown/romper, and on NCBE wrap top/pants/shorts should I do a couple preemie/nb size or just 0-3m. My babies have all been under 7lbs. but this one could be 8lbs or so since I am hoping to not have to be induced (high BP) etc. with a midwife/birth center water birth. The 2 gowns I've made seem huge in 0-3m.

YES!!! there 0-3 month size does seem huge and would swallow up a tiny baby.

And lastly, if I want to take one of the above patterns and cut it off under the armpits and add a gathered skirt for a dress, how long should I make the rectangle/skirt, and which pattern works well this way?
|
I've done this before, I took it down about an inch from the arm pit line and attached a "skirt" that was about 3-4 time the width, of the bottom of one half of the tee shirt. For length I'm not real sure, I just played around with it till I got something I thought was a good lenght.
If any of this doesn't make sence, haller and i'll see if I can't do a sew along to show you what I mean.
