French seams are easy-peasy. Just start with the
wrong sides together and stich a narrow seam. Then trim to within 1/4 inch of your stitch line, turn inside out, and stitch again about 1/2 inch from where the first seam is. It sounds more complicated than it is--there's a much better explanation
here along with pictures.
I love me some french seams, except when I get stupid and put them in the wrong direction...
