Question hastings, SG scoring question

I made a quilt top before the SG--I think it was last year at this time.

I just added backing, batting, and binding. I understand that the backing & batting counts as yardage and that the binding is 1 pt.

Do I still add 3 pts for it being a UFO?

I have a question about UFO's, too. I cut a bunch of stuff out when I was on vacation. I know that they will count as UFOs. Does each piece get 3 points (i.e. pants and shirt) or does each outfit get 3 points?

Thanks,
Laura Q

You don't get a 3 point bonus for finishing a ufo, the 3 points is what you get TOTAL for finishing it. In the case of a quilt top finished before the stash game though, you get to count it as regular yardage if you actually finish the quilt, so you would count the quilt top yardage, batting, and back yardage+ the notion point for binding. From a strategy point of view, there are great benefits to quilting a quilt during the game, but finishing tops and such don't get you too much-- unless of course you make quilt tops and then give them away thus having finished your obligation to the project lol. (I made a bunch for a young women'r group that was quilting them up for charity during an earlier game )

As far as multiple items in a set that are ufo's. If they were all already cut out and started then each piece is a seperate ufo =3 pts each. If you had previously begun the shirt and not cut out the pants then the shirt would be a ufo and the pants can be counted as regular yardage.
