ISO: Fabric to make wash cloths - really soft stuff

I'm not sure what it is.... But a mama made me some baby wipes, using different fabric so I could feel the different types.

They where different soft stuff I've heard people talk about, but fabric I can't find local... we just have a Joanns.

Well dh likes to use it as a wash cloth and asked if I could make a bunch more. But LOL since I didn't make them, I don't know what it is.

It all most feels like fleece, but not really, it has a fluffy textured feel.

Any ideas on what it could be?

If anyone has something for sale LMK. Maybe some 1/2 yards of different stuff to see what he likes best??

It could be Hemp Fleece knit (kind of like sweatshirt material). Hemp French Terry or Burley Knit Terry which are really nice soft terry.

Can you post a picture of it? Maybe someone can identify it.

I love BKT for washies. That's all I use for baby wipes, I also bought enough from a co-op to make some towels... still haven't done that though.

I dunno what you are talking about exactly, but I just discovered my fabric of choice for washies from now on. I got it at Joanns & is the same stuff someone (lakshmi mama??) made washies out of in a previous swap.. its velour terry.. a looped terry on one side & a velour terry on the other.. SOOOOOO soft. Ive been making hooded towel sets with it.. its the BEST stuff. Ive found it at joanns near the other terrys- they had blue, pink, cream & white iirc. $9.99/yd but I use my coupon. hth!!

i love, love, love that velour terry stuff for wipes/washies. it's really soft and absorbent and i love it that one layer works well, so it's not very bulky, kwim? and if you can get it at $6 a yard with a coupon, that is probably better than you'll get going through a coop for sherpa or hemp once you've paid the shipping.

what color was it?

It might be velour. It's my favorite for wipes, it's super soft. I use velour on one side and a printed knit on the other or sometimes stretch terry. I've been selling off my velour stash and have some forsale if your interested.

I have some made from organic sherpa which feels and looks like a very soft terry. YUMMMY! Must make more!
