Can I just *wing it* with a trainer/pull-up?

I can't seem to find anyone who sells these so that they're actually *absorbant* like a diaper, but look like undies.

So, I'm thinking I'm going to make them - we're on our last Pull-Up and we still need them for nighttime and naps. I hate to buy another pack when I have so much in supplies lying around.

I was thinking of tracing the basic shape for a pair of undies or a side snap cover, and then just stitching it closed on the sides.

Also, how would *you* make them? I'm out of micro, but I have PUL and lots of prefolds, plus some superflannel...but no FOE. Maybe I just need to get the darn FOE - but I really hate the stuff, so if it can be avoided that's a major plus.

Any ideas?

Here's a free training pattern (with snaps). It does use FOE, but haven't people used strips of PUL in place of FOE? (I'll let the experts answer that one.

The wide diaper FOE is way easier to work with than the skinny, shiny stuff. If you'd like me to send you a couple yards to try out, PM me your address.

I'd offer to make the training pants for you, but I wore myself out on those, lol. I think I've made about 30.
