I need to make some beach cover-ups for Myself and the girls? Anyone have some suggestions. I won't have time to order KS patterns.

I think the most recent sew news had beach cover ups.

suzanne, the pink terry one i made caelyn for her bday a few weeks ago was just a hoodie w/ added length and sleeves omitted. it was the hoodie pattern out if KSFK book. it was really easy. Could you just morph a hoodie pattern?

I'd use the hood piece from KSFT, and the front & back from a regular t-shirt pattern, and just lengthen it and angle it out a little. You could add the kangaroo pocket from KSFT, too. Use knit terry, and maybe some decorative ribbon around the outside of the hood and/or down the sides.

I made myself a beach cover-up out of solarveil last summer and I just love it. It's sort of sheer, so it wouldn't work to warm you up, but it offers full sun protection and works great as a cover up.

I have a basic button up shirt pattern that I adapted, just made it longer and skipped the interfacing. Like a big shirt. I was copying this from solarveil's website http://www.solarveil.com/home.asp
