New motherboard? Uggg... computerized machines

My espire started acting funky after the needle hit the zipper foot . The bobbin wasn't tight enough, it kept snagging. I took it to one shop, and they said it was the motherboard and they could not fix it because Babylock won't sell them the part as they are not a BL dealer.

I took it to our 'local' BL dealer (40 miles away) who said it would be 2 days to fix and about 80. . That was fine with me. But I just called and they said it's open on the bench with a note that they have a call into BL to get a new motherboard.

This should run about 300. and I'd be better off buying a new machine from them. Ummmm not sure they have anything for 500 (which would be the total price).

I'm so happy with my 135. Brother Serger from Walmart and my 35. mechanical Singer I got from the thrift store. Not sure this is all worth it. I may just see if they want to buy it off me.

Bummer! I knew it was too good to be true. It was fun being cool for a few weeks lol.

Oh, no . But you're still cool, Meg . There's a mama on another board I read who got featured in a several-page article in "Sew Beautiful", and she used what she's always used, her old Singer mechanical.

But new tools are fun, especially after your exciting ebay win, so sorry.

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry Meg...and you could not replace all the functionality of that machine for $500, really you can't. Its most like the Quilter's Choice which retails for about $1000.

Poor little machine

If I were you I would just take it back and save up the money. They probably won't give you much for it. That does really stink. : (
