Cheap source for Timetex?

I got a fabric bowl pattern on sale for 99 cents yesterday because I just love all of the cute bowls that have been sns'd. Asked about Timetex at hancocks and I just got a blank stare from two gals. So where do I get it, how much does it run and is there something else I can use instead that I can buy locally??? How's that for a run on question...lol.

There are several "no-name" brands of Timtex out there that I use successfully. I found some at an outdoor fabric store for $5 per yard for 60" wide stuff. And I had a coupon....it was a good deal Start checking for stuff for hat brims.

I have tried Peltex and it is similar but definitely not the same. It might work for the fabric bowl...haven't tried that. Try it and see! The only way I save money on Timtex is buying it by the bolt at a wholesale price.

Beverly's carries it & you can use a 40% off JoAnn's coupon there. (Do you have a Beverly's near you? I wouldn't have suggested it if you weren't in CA.)

Pelltex is less fluffy than timtex, but they DO have it for $5.99 for I think a 36" wide yard. So, if you use the coupon, it can be ok AND, interfacing is half off through tomorrow get thee to Joann's, woman!

Oh, and here:

I have a roll of the 22" wide Timtex, and can part with up to 20 yards. It cost me $5.00/yd after ship to me.

Thank you ladies so much for sharing info. I think I am gonna try to sneak away to JoAnnes later and check and see if they have any first.

Fullmoonmama~ If they dont have any I would love to buy some from you. I really was just gonna get a couple of yards to try it first. So if you could part with some if Joannes doesn't have anything I would be eternally grateful.

Mamaselena~ You look gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing. Just beautiful. I really like that dress on you too.

fw221~ No Beverely's up here. We used to live by one and I really like that fabric store too.

Hopefully you all will see a sns from me too. Planning a bowl out of bettyboop for GMIL as a xmas present. Determined not to be staying up all ours of the night sewing this year for xmas. We'll see. I always say this every year. Actually last year I said that is it, not sewing for xmas but boy it so much cheaper and just more personal than buying something.
