Sewing mamas!Calling all AmityMama's who like to sew! Do you make quilts, clothes, diapers, bags? Do you love to run your fingers through fiber? Can't get enough just sewing, but want to talk about it too? Come on in!
This is a UFO that has been sitting on my shelf waiting for the right shade of green wooly nylon. Been looking now for two years, and it doesn't exist... at least not in this country!
So by now I have completely forgotten for whom/why I cut these out, but I was tired of looking at them in the unfinished pile, so I decided to sew them up with the closest thread I could find. The green I used is a pretty close match for the print, but I don't like the darker contrast as well as I thought I would. It doesn't help that I need to change my serger knife (no idea how!) and so there are little chunks of torn up fabric peeking through the stitching. Oh well, they will work fine, I'm sure. We are going to start trying for #5 pretty soon. I didn't just say that. I must be crazy!
So here they are:
Angela and Erika, I sent your patterns (same diaper as above) out today.
I LOVE those! Do you make diapers to sell? ANd do you sell your pattern? It looks like the type of diapers that I love!
I think the wn looks great, perfect contrast.

cute cute! I love that fabric and still have a little bit. What color wn is that?
So you recognize that fabric, LOL! I don't know what color WN it is... I just took my fabric to the local market and that was the closest match. Actually, I don't even know for sure it *is* WN - I think it may be wooly dacron. I like it better than WN because on placemats and napkins it can be ironed without melting. At $1 per large spool (7000 yds) the price is right!

I LOVE those! Do you make diapers to sell? And do you sell your pattern?
I do sell them occasionally if I get on a sewing run and make too many, LOL. The pattern is just something I drafted, similar to a NB Kissaluv but a little bigger in some areas to fit my bigger babies. I can send you a copy of you PM me your address. Jayme made an adorable diaper out of the pattern a few days ago, and here is the last batch I made if you want to see more examples.
Serena, if it's not to much trouble, could you take a picture of the placement of the umbilical snap for me. I can't tell if these dipes have it, but I just noticed them on the pink diaper pin dipes. Thanks.

Those are adorable
Any chance of getting some of those $1 spools and sending them out to us poor wanting Amity mamas? Dh's has already ruined one iron by ironing over wooly nylon on a tablecloth so it would be nice to sew with something on linens that would not melt.
I didn't realize that you had 4 kids. I think I have only seen pics of 2. How much older are your older kids?
