Hip Kanji shirring success story and S&S ~ Pics are back!!! ~

I DID IT!! I finally cleaned my machine this morning, and then rethreaded it, and tried the tention as high as I could go and then machine threaded the elastic bobbin... but it still didn't work. After removing 3 rows of shirring I decided to try to hand wind it. and it worked!!! Check out what I got done today:

And one more becuase she thinks she is SO funny and it is so cute!

I wish I could give you a close up of this cool fabric... it has a bunch of caligeraphy kanji on it up and down, and then some japanese flowers and a few symbols too. It is so neat! I had to make the black capris to go with it... I just love this outfit... and she doesn't hate it! SCORE!

Love Val

Haha! She was sitting still enough for me to take a picture while she was sitting on my lap. lol...

Val, that's fantastic! I"m not a fan of shirring, but dang, I really like that dress! Your dd is so cute.

BTW, I tried to respond to your velour pants thread and my computer crashed. They turned out great! WTG

Great outfit, I love that dress with the black capris! Your daughter is very cute, and quite a riot with the face in the second picture! Mine love doing that, too.

Val, I'm so glad you got your machine to do shirring for you! I was bummed, I remembered how exciting for you to get your new machine, then to have it act up so fast . . . but the outfit looks wonderful, guess it's a matter of learning your own machine's quirks

Yep... I am very excited... all of this sewing has been a real learning story for me. I think it will be worth it though. I am able to do some really great stuff now that my old machine really couldn't do. So it is really starting to feel worth it.

I wonder whats going on with the pictures. I can see them... they are on Village Photos hosting... is there any reason you couldn't see them that would be linked to that?

JoAnn's. It was from this last fall... I found in when I was looking at quilting stuff. And just knew that it would be perfect for an outfit like this.

I get little red 'x's for the photos... I right clicked on one, selected properties, copied the Address [url] to my browser's address field and tried to look at it that way. Got a screen from Village Photos that says
"Access Denied (Usage Limit)"
"The owner of this file has exceeded their daily usage limit."

Try this one... perhaps you can see the whole file. I know I haven't gone over my limit becuase it says right on it 18 out of 25 photos saved

The first 4 pictures on "sewing pictures" are the outfit here. My pictures are all in the wrong files because I didn't really know what I was doing, and I loaded them up anyway.

Love Val

ETA: Ahhh... now I see it... I no longer can see them either. THAT IS SO WEIRD! Well I will just have to bump it tomorrow when my "daily useage" isn't so much. What a werid thing. Sorry guys.
