smooch A Sentimental S&S~

Actually, another re-upholster and show -- kinda! Sophie was out digging through the garage again (far, far too much stuff is still in totes and boxes out there and she has to go out a couple of times a week and bring new stuff in. Like we need more STUFF.) Anywho, I spied this pin cushion in a tote. It was my Great Grandma's. I'm not sure why I never used it, but I decided to bring it in and spiff it up a little. Notice that it's missing one peg???

Before~

After~ The hole where the missing dowel used to be is perfect for my thread shipping scissors! YIPEEE!!!

TFL! I am so excited to have this as a daily reminder of Great Grandma. She is very much missed in my family and although I am very blessed to have many things of hers, I think this is my most cherished. Now I'm just kicking myself for not using it sooner!

Gotta love those special family heirlooms. I have a number of my Grammie's things and I treasure them. Maybe someday you can pass it onto Sophie.

Meagan, That is a neat S&S. Tugs at my heartstrings. You did a great job fixing it up. What a great memento to see and use

Thanks mamas. I have to keep coming back to this thread and looking at it. Cause, you know what's sad?... If I were in my sewing room, sewing LIKE I SHOULD BE, I coudl just look at it there. I need to break out of this sewing rut I'm in. That e/w challenge really wore me out! LOL

Thats very pretty. There is something about preserving the past and honoring where your sewing genes came from!

Wow, don't you just love it when you make finds like that? I would love to go through my grandmother's attic one day.
