Another tension question UGH!

My needle tension is off, but I can't fix it. No matter what I do, it always looks like this. What do I do? Is my serger broken???

ETA: I just cleaned, oiled and rethreaded my machine. I was hoping that would fix it, but no such luck

Put all your tensions at like 2, and start moving up from there. Tighten them a little at a time until it looks like that again, and then loosen them a bit.

Maybe your tension disks are dirty. take a piece of thick thread and dip it in alchohol and run it trhough the tension discs to clean them. Other than that, I once had a tension disk "go bad" and it had to be replaced. Maybe that's it... Check your tension disks to make sure they're still working.

Thanks everyone. I've cleaned the disks, the disk itself is ok. I just don't know what else to do. I guess I'm going to have to fork out the $$$ for it to be repaired. UGH! It's only 4 months old for crying out loud

This is going to sound crazy, and I have no idea why it worked ...
I had a serger that did that same thing ... no matter what I tried, the needle tension was loose. The only way to "fix" it was to take the spool of needle thread down on my sewing table, next to the serger. I used a cup to hold it. When I serged w/ the thread in the cup--no problems. LOL!
