Uber boring S&S for points

LOL, I finally broke 50 pts. I've been really busy with yardwork & getting the garden started this week. Rain coming this weekend so my sewing should pick up

Here's my 6 yo in a peasant top I made--note how much hair she has now, lol. Definitely time for haircuts.

More peasant tops & some shorts for the baby from scraps.

And my first attempt at a visor, sorry the first 2 pics were really bad, this is just a closeup of the deco stitching Visor on right is the WM one that gave me the idea. I had a little rippling in my copy, I need to use some interfacing in the band (the original had none). It looks great on, horrible on the table. Oh, there's a UFO bib in the background, tiedye & denim.

Not pictured, I made 3 more pairs of denim shorts for the kids & 3 cloth grocery bags for a friend too. I'm forcing myself to do a UFO before I make something new everytime I sit at the machines, my pile was ridiculously tall.

Nothing glamorous but I figured I better post a pic of something to prove I've been sewing. TFL.

Very cute shorts. Love the visor and your neat decorative stitch. Those will be a big hit in the swap.

I've never had any of the PRR Alligators, so I didn't know how well that Alligator stitch matched the print! Looks like I need to get some gators. LOL

Everything looks great! I think the visor turned out really well and of course the peasant tops are cute!

You have been busy. Everything looks great. What kind of interfacing did you use in the right visor. Looks store bought but even cuter!

Wow, thanks mamas! I thought this was a really boring S&S, you're making me with the replies (I'm so easy to please, lol).

The visor has 2 layers of WM timtex (can't remember their name for it). I'll be using some fusible stuff to make the fabric stick to it next time, I think that'll make it easier. And some mid-weight interfacing in the band too. It wasn't too hard, my stitching isn't very pretty in one spot underneath where the visor joins the band, I'm going to experiment with the next one. I need to make a couple more practice ones before I start on the swap stuff. I'm also going to try using elastic instead of velcro for the closure on a few.

I LOVE my new machine too, I totally take back everything I ever said about computerized machines, LOL. I had one diaper cut of the PRR in my scrap box and there's enough for a couple more visors from it Thanks so much to bArb for sending me scraps! I'll have Lydia's on the way in a couple days, I want it to be perfect.

Oh, I read this wrong. The right visor IS the store bought one, I'm using it to make my own pattern, LOL. Just a cheapie from Walmart I had to buy dd one day while we were out walking and getting sunburned

CUTE cute visor! I'll have to add one of those to my "what do you hope to receive" list in the swap thread.
