Can someone help me with the My Favorite Things Cute Skirt pattern?

I have read the instructions 4 times and I can't find the length of elastic to use. Am I missing a page maybe? If not does anyone know what length elastic I should use for a size 6.

just guessing here, but i'd use 2-3 inches less than the actual waist measurement.

What Erin said. I don't have that pattern, but I never pay attention to what any pattern says about elastic measurement and cut 3" smaller than my actual waist measurement.

Becka, you put the elastic in, tack it down on one side, try on the skirt, then tighten until its right. The waist band is kind of weird, I did it differently the 2nd time. Oh and most people find that the waistband pieces don't fit exactly, so the 2nd time I just cut my own after I got the two different sections of skirt together (3 gores in front, 5 gores for the back).

AH! This must be a problem for that pattern company as I tried to make one of their pants patterns but the waistband would NOT fit on the waist. I ended up frustrated and threw the pattern in the back of my closet LOL

I have their skirt pattern and I'm wondering if I should just chuck it back there as well

I thought I had mis-calculated the seam allowances, but after hearing Suzanne mention the same thing, I was more prepared the next time. I just lengthened the pieces after I got the front and back put together so that I knew what length to make them. Really easy.

Yet again I'm a total dork and didn't read ahead enough on the pattern, it describes it just like you said Heather

My waistbands fit perfect, I must have messed up somehow, LOL, first time I've benefited from a sewing screw up
