When was the last time you cleaned your sewing Area?

I'm sitting here tonight in my sewing room looking around and shaking my head This place is a sty. I swear I can't tell you the last time I REALLY cleaned it out. I have half finished wall paper on one wall,Half finished projects everywhere and so much fabric I coulden't fit it all back in the closet no matter how hard I try.

What about you how bad is your "area"? Tell me i'm not the only one who is this much of a sewing slob...

Last night...but I had to because my current sewing area is my dining room.

ETA: a shot of my sewing spot. I keep my machines, some thread, notions and current projects up on this counter. The rest of my fabric and stuff is out in boxes and cabinets in the garage.

Stephanie, if you visited my sewing space, you'd think it was last cleaned . . . maybe a year ago. With 7 children at home, and the computer in here, and two uhhmmmm *creative* (cough, cough messy) dd's who sew every day, it always looks like a leftover scud missile just hit . I actually throw a fit and clean it all out every couple of weeks, don't know why tho.

I actually lightly clean (put away fabric and patterns, and do a quick vacuuming) mine weekly. I am usually NOT a great housekeeper (I don't clean anything else weekly!), but it is so small and so full of STUFF that if I don't tidy it fairly often, it is just depressing and counterproductive.

yeah,me too. It gets out of control quickly when it's all kept to a corner. I probably do a cleaning/organizing once every two weeks, but that's just because I'm a slob and have to put back everything that I've dragged out and not bothered to put away.

I clean mine every day, sometimes every other. It was the last thing I cleaned before I left on vacation. It is the first thing you see when you come into my house so I try to keep it neat. Plus, I hate not being able to find things.

Everytime I sew, my area gets cleaned up. I have 2 sewing tables right behind the love seat in my livingroom, so they have to be kept tidy. Not only for visitors, but little fingers find things that are not put away

That's why I have a room devoted just to sewing. So I can close the door & hide the hideous mess!!!

I do plan on cleaning it up before my parents come down next month though.

Um, a few weeks ago I think. But as soon as i start a new project, the mess compunds again. Currently there is thread and scraps everywhere. My sewing room is also the laundry room, so I've been seeing dh wear his shirts with thread pieces lately. Poor guy
