Sewing mamas!Calling all AmityMama's who like to sew! Do you make quilts, clothes, diapers, bags? Do you love to run your fingers through fiber? Can't get enough just sewing, but want to talk about it too? Come on in!
I'm going to be spending a week or two in bed. I know I could just watch TV and read but I hate spending all that time doing nothing productive. How long does it take to learn to knit? Any hand sewing projects you can think of? TIA!

As for activities, a laptop would be very high on my priority list. You could try a handmade cathedral window quilt. I started one while on bedrest with Isabelle....I think I still have it somewhere. How about crocheting or knitting??

Sorry, I didn't read your whole message. Knitting is really, really easy. Get some online instructions and go for it.
Do you scrapbook at all? That would be a good bed activity too..... Or you could just catch up on your sleep. I honestly wouldn't plan too much since when they say you need to stay in bed, you usually don't feel like doing a whole lot else. I had a breast reduction and I spent a lot of time in bed sleeping afterwards. It was Christmas time, so I did handpaint all the ornaments for my tree and instructed DH on where and how to hang them. He required that I took my "happy pill" aka my pain meds before we began each session....
I knit like a fiend when I was in bed after my surgery in December.
It wouldn't take long to learn the basic knit stitch. That is all you need to make a basic washcloth. A few simple stitches more and you can make all sorts of things.
