s-n-s

i know i already showed the skirt, but i just finished the top today. I was planning to make the top in pink for sarah and purple for taylor. I thought I'd try it first in muslin (i think thats what it is) first so i didnt ruin my material. I think I like it the way it is.

I have never been able to figure out how to use a real pattern, so i took a peasant top that we had and traced it to make my own pattern. I had it done except for the elastic. I tried it on sarah and I had made the waist part WAY to small (didnt account for the stretchy material that the top I copied was made from). So I took apart the sides and added a strip of the pink like is in the skirt.

I also took Taylor's skirt apart (the one in my sig) the other day and added a few more strips to it. It was just not wide enough. It looks much better, but I havent take a new pic.

Very cute and a good save of the top. I'd have probably given up and started over rather than do that much seam ripping and reconstruction.
