Machine skipping?

My machine is running fine when I'm sewing wovens, but yesterday it was skipping stiches like crazy when I was sewing a knit. So bad that I just moved onto a different project.

What can I do to prevent this??? I've never had this problem before!

New needle time? Sometimes changing fabrics will bring a dull needle out.

I'm just guessing though....

I have this experience all the time. Needles wear out. Also, what kind of needle are you using? Universal works fine for both wovens and knits most of the time, depending on the specifics of your fabric. If it's a new universal and skipping on knits, then I switch to a ballpoint. I use stretch needles on serious knits - nylon lycra, stuff like that.

Cortney, thank you for posting the question- I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I adjusted the tension back & forth several times, rethreaded the machine a few times, etc. I just couldn't figure out the problem. Driving me crazy! I was using a ballpoint needle, but maybe it was just too old/worn out....

Thank you for the suggestions, ladies
