Who has the Janome CoverPro now?

I am considering this one 1000CP. My local dealer is saying 799. However another one that is probably about 45 minutes away has it for 647 including warranty, a 1year tuneup and lessons. I'm gonna go to the local dealer and play with it a little and see if I like it.

Has anyone gotten the binders from ebay to work *WELL* with this machine?

I am getting mine prob tonight. yippeeee! My local dealer wanted 799 for it as well, but I ended up ordering from the same place Mary got hers for 599. Crazy how each place can vary. I am looking to hear the answers about the binders as well.

Well I just found the brother one for 499 at my local sewvac because it never sold there. Now I'm not sure. There is one dealer in the area who carries both. Perhaps I'll head over there and check it out.

BTW Crystal - congratulations have fun with it!

I'm anxious to read reviews too. I'd really like to get one this summer. I've been keeping track of how often I'd use one and approximately how much time it would save me and I think it would definitely be worth the expense.

Not trying to hijack the thread . . . . but I love my Brother coverstitch. It sews beautifully and runs very smoothly. I also got all the attachments for it ~ makes awesome double-fold binding, single-fold binding, beltloops . . . and that is a great price.

But there is a big plus to the Janome ~ it has that great freearm. The brother not having the freearm doesn't seem to slow me down though.

Good luck with your decision.

I haven't played with the binder any more because I do seem to prefer to stitch in the round. My latest idea is to drill holes in a thin piece of plexiglass. I will try to do it today, I think it will work very well for the binders.
Overall, I am still happy with the machine. It does hiccup over seams (skipping a few stitches, or having them close together right before) if I'm not paying attention sometimes. I've been on a woven kick lately, but used it a bunch last night and am getting more comfortable with it...

I've got the brother too and love it! It top stitches great and goes over heavy areas nicely. I never got a chance to check out the Janome though. I did own the Bernina coverhemmer that I really didn't care for. I ended up trading it in for the brother without loosing any $$. I have the binder attachment that I just got in a couple of weeks ago but haven't tried it out. Can you tell me why you are drilling into plexi glass? I'm sure I don't have to do this to mine.

see the link in the post right above yours. The industrial binders from the guy on ebay don't fit on the Janome without some sort of helper piece. I have been working on creating that helper piece....
