We went to a tulip festival in the pouring rain. At least the crowds were not too bad And I got to play with my new camera. Isabelle and Alex were wearing Munki Munki...I guess thats kind of on-topic!
They had an exotic bird rescue there and the girls got to hold birds:
I just love the clarity of your camera! Where'd you go?
bArb - One of my favorites is below. That camera is fast, easy to use and I love how the pictures turned out. We stopped by Costco on the way home and I had several printed and blown up to 8x10 and they are amazing, really, really amazing. We went here: http://www.woodenshoe.com/index.html Of course you can order the tulips you see.....I need to cut down my list a bit...LOL
WOW Heather!! Your camera is amazing! The pictures of your family are awesome. The clarity of the flowers . . . very impressive. Looks like a great excursion. I bet it was beautiful, despite the rain.

Awwwww - now I am so jealous! We usually go to the tulip festival, but this year I couldn't because I am on call for a birth, so I couldn't go that far out of town. I do have several dozen lovely tulips blooming right outside the window I am seated in front of though and they keep me smiling in all this yucky rain. (enough already, I say! I know we need the rain, but sheesh! )

I don't mind the rain as much as I mind the cold. It was freezing yesterday. Luckily it poured when we got there and then it was sunny, but chilly. We usually go too. I first took the girls when DH left on a business trip to France, our house went on the market and Alex was just a baby. I got sick of cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning and saw this on the news and drug the girls up there. It was stunning We usually go during spring break during a weekday because I've heard weekends are insane up there. But everyone was sick during spring break this year. I was going to skip it, but then I got the new camera on Friday and well.......it seemed like a perfect opportunity.
And can you believe that they are saying that we still will be in drought conditions this summer? We mowed our whole property in February and just last week we couldn't do the back corner. It always is mushy....I want to plant a tree out there that likes water, I was thinking a willow of some sort. I have some tulips that were planted by the previous owner, but I want some more.....you should see everything circled in the catalog, I need to prune back a bit, I'll never get 200 bulbs planted.
