Have you found that serged AIOs leak?

Just wondering if I can put together an informal poll. I'm wondering if there's a reason most AIOs are done with binding, FOE or T&T? Do the serged ones wick or is it just preference. I'm planning for the next kiddo and CDing from birth.

I had some WAHM made AIOs with my last baby. They were PUL outers with sherpa inside & they were serged. I can't remember who made them, but they were some of my favorites. HTHs.

I think it depends on the outer fabric. My guess would be that if anything serged was going to wick, it would be PUL. But then again, I think that anything that's PUL has the chance of wicking faster than fleece. KWIM? I personally make windpro serged AIO's and they never wicked for us (and haven't had any customers say so...).

yeah it's the PUL I'm wondering about. It would make things easier but then again I've never made a bound diaper either. I guess there are so many variables in a diaper I'm just going to have to give it a try with a prototype.

just wanted to add that I made the PUL/AIO diaper (17 of them) and while I love them, so easy to make I'm a natural born streamliner. LOL I tend to overthink things before getting down to business.

I made these recently and they do not wick at all so far, even at night! I made these roughly based on the Little Lamb's AIO style, which are very popular. I have one Little Lamb's AIO and it does leak a bit for me, but it think it is because the trifold soaker is just too small (not absorbant enough). I made my own soakers bigger and heavier and have not had any problems with wicking or leaking at all. I just love them and will be doing some more this week.

Oh, I should add that my PUL is all poly... that may have something to do with no wicking. I am going to try with some cotton laminated PUL next... if anything wicks it will be that!

The only serged diapers I ever had wick were ones made with PUL. I also do sherpa fitteds and Windpro AIO's and never had a problem. HTH'S
