Prr gators meet Ottobre / What size does your 5 yr old wear?
okay, so not that exciting, but it's my first Ottobre shirt. I started out easy with the raglan shirt from the latest issue. It's serged/topstitched with cotton thread so I can dye it later.
Ds is asleep so we can't try it on, but it seems a little small to me. I made a 116 based on measurements. He also wears 116 in Burda. If you have a 5 yr old, what size does he/she wear in Ottobre patterns?
This was the very last I had of this knit, only enough for a washie left.
Hey, Sonya Great shirt!! (And I love your new sig pic, too ) I usually make a 110 for my 5yo dd, but I could probably make a 98 with added length for her - she's tall and very slender, and I notice that everything I've made in that size is too wide on her, but just long enough. She's 111 cm tall, so I was going by that....but I took everyone's measurements a few days ago and noticed that if I went by her specific measurements, I'd have to piece several different sizes together to get it right, kwim? I'm blabbering now....

That's a cute shirt! It's funny how you sometimes don't notice a pattern until someone does a neat S&S with it. I don't remember seeing that raglan pattern but now that I see your shirt I want to make one :P
My dd is almost 6 and she just recently moved into a 110. I always add at least 1" and sometimes 2" to Ottobre shirts. Even in the magazine, they seem to always fall right at the waistline.

Faith ~ Mama To Two Great Girls
Hannah is in 104, she will be 6 in May. But is short and she has like a 19 1/2in waist. I, like Faith, add inches to the length too though. The shirts are always way too short.
Woohoo! It fits! (sorry Shecki) I added a modeling pic...it's not even too short like I thought it would be. I'm not so sure this would last all summer though, so I may size up next time.
Thanks for sharing your sizing strategies/experiences with me, I appreciate it.
:deep sigh: It's very cute. And that print looks great dyed blue. One of my favorite outfits I ever made was from a scrap of Alligators and some french terry I pieced with it. I think I dyed it cerulean blue, but I'm not 100% positive.
very cute! I love the gators too but your son is adorable!
