Playing catch-up S&S's

I haven't showed things in so long - I actually haven't sewed much for a while either. But here are some older things that were on my camera and a few that I just finished today (RED!!)

First up is a newborn gown I made from KS 3090. I really like how this turned out. I gifted it to a mama who is laboring today.

Next are matching pajamas I made for a friend who is pg with her second. She also has a 3 year old son. Gown is KS 3090, 3T pajamas are KSFT modified. I don't know what I was thinking using the last of my Munki fireflies on this. LOL!!

My son needed some new underwear so I made him 10 pairs of boxer briefs from Allison's pattern. He chose the fabrics and which elastic he wanted to use on each one. He loves these (there are already some gone from the pile when I took the picture) and told his two best friends when they were over here playing that they need undies like these.

A few more in the next post....

These are made with some awesome and I mean AWESOME cotton lycra knit I bought from Sewzanne's. This fabric is so yummy that even my 7 year old son couldn't stop talking about it. LOL! I used all of mine and I think I need to order more before it's gone.

First up is a shirt for me from a Petite Plus pattern that I modified to have short sleeves and a straight instead of curved bottom hem. I really like the way it turned out and I have never worn red before, but I like it!! Oh yeah, Kanji iron-ons from Sewzanne's too. It says love.

My son got a matching kanji shirt and chose the kanji for electric. He is thrilled with it. My daughters have the red cotton lycra as the bodice on a circle dress. So much fun!!

And last but not least, I need to add a twirling shot.

Thanks for looking!

I really like those gowns. They look great. I was looking at that pattern at the store today - do you think it would be good for a beginner?

I agree with you about that lycra knit from sewzannes! I love it. It's so soft and silky. I have some white waiting for me to make it into a wrap top for myself.

I'm glad to see you are sewing for yourself

Did you finish the butterfly circle skirt?

You haven't worn red before? With your complexion? I wish red looked half as good on me! I just love the twirly dresses. Well done.

Niri,
I love seeing you sewing for yourself. Doesn't it feel good?
I'm proud of you for cutting into the fireflies. It's such a great print.

LOve the cherry dresses

I think it would be a great pattern for a beginner. The directions are written well - be sure to read the directions like I didn't.

Thanks everyone!! It is really satisfying to sew for myself. It always seemed like something that would be too hard. Thanks and smooches to Allison for shoving me (not so gently ) over that hump. I think I need a black hemp jersey one next. I feel all rebellious making it from black since we weren't allowed to wear black as kids. LOL!

Suzanne - now you really need to come visit and bring your cherry skirt so you can match my girls.

My baby is growing up. It's kind of sad lately that she is my last and not so much of a baby anymore
