Would there be any problems w/ using metal snaps on knit diapers?

I don't have a snap press, just use snap source snaps, which I know will work fine on flannel diapers, but will the metal snaps make holes/runs in knit diapers? I know they don't in regular clothes, but the snaps on diapers get a lot harder use.

Should I save up my paypal for a snap press?

As long as the place you are putting the snaps is sufficiently stabilized you shouldn't have a problem. Reasons to not do metal in diapers that I've heard are: metal allergies, concerns about hot snaps out of the dryer and cost. Snap Source snaps work out to about 20cents per snaps while plastic/nylon snaps work out to 3cents per snap. When you are applying a lot of snaps for maximum sizing it really adds up

Cost is the biggest factor in not using metal snaps. I also had a few rust and come out after about a year of hard use.

I also think plastic snaps snap on and off easier.

What about doing a trade with someone who has a snap press?
