Wow LOL who are these people that you know so little about but are making gifts for them?

Gosh it seems like forever since my girls were only 1...I'll have to think about this!

What about one of those balls made from fabric scraps...not sure if they'd be too old for those...I need to see if I still have that in my favorites.

eta: what about quilts?--not sure how much time you have though since you said you needed something quick

I make baby gifts for people who work for my husband and his work friends. The husband works with DH and I made them a baby gift (three patchwork minkee taggies with their names embroidered on if anyone remembers). They have invited our kids to a birthday party/family barbecue and Dh wants to go.

What about those chicken pincushions someone linked today but filled with plastic pellets (if I can find them) -- I think rice/seed would go yucky if chewed on. Perhaps a matching fabric bowl to go with?? But that isn't enough for three kids is it?

Hmm, what about bibs, tshirts, shorts, all of those go together quickly, and don't take up too much fabric. If you have a little more time, maybe some type of stuffed animal or doll? One year olds don't really care, heck you could wrap an empty box, and they would be happy, LOL!

Bean bag games? Animal hooded towels with washing mits? I remember bathtime beng fun at that age.

Just to make things interesting (though it sounds like you are pressed for time) I would include something for Mom and Dad too. After making it through a year with triplets, Im sure they deserve a medal LOL

Just thought of a couple more:

Those I-Spy thingies (the clear pocket with goodies inside) are pretty cool!

Also, I have found capes to be a big hit with little ones. If you need a pattern, Wild Things has one as well as Ottobre (thought I T&T, instead of binding it)

great ideas! Hmm, how to choose... I like the tote bag idea. I like bath mitts, tshirts and shorts were my original idea, but I'd need to know size and as they were premmie, they could be any size by now.

My good friend has triplets and likes them dressed the same (2girls 1boy) - She LOVES when I make them matching outfits. For simple I have made her (and other very mainstream friends) short sets. Just a fabric applique on the front of a tshirt and then shorts of the same material.
For a little fancier I"d make a sundress for the girls and then a camp shirt/shorts for the boy in the same fabric.

Ella just turned 1 and she's really into playsilks and little bags to put them in. She loves balls too. She also loves her little people fire station and trucks but I'm sure you want to make something and not buy plastic junk, LOL.

Peasant tops go together quickly, little baby capri pants to match? An alternative to "all the same" is matching outfits in different colors.

If you need any measurements from a smaller than average 1 yo LMK. I imagine they're tiny triplets.
