Holey knees in jeans? Make a skirt!

B is really good at getting holes in the knees of her jeans. I just bought these jeans in November and already there are holes. I thought I'd patch it and then put some decorative stitching around the edges but B poo-poo'd that idea. With summer coming up, I figured I could just cut them off into shorts but the pockets were in the way. So we ended up with a skirt!

Thanks for looking!

Now that's the best "jeans to skirt" transformation I've seen yet Awesome!

I had to make my 6 yo a pair of capris this morning due to "holey jeans & moommmmmm, I can't find anything else" I just hemmed them and put a really cute butterfly iron-on I found in the WM clearance bin the other day on one leg for some "kick". They got her seal of approval I'll have to try some skirts too, I have a big pile of jeans to mend.

Very cute! That's something I've wanted to try myself for a while now. You've inspired me, I'm off to search the sew alongs to see if there are directions!

I have a pair of jeans set aside to make one for myself. I plan to do a line of stitching on the bottom though and just let it fray, in place of the hem.

You can actually buy skirts at the store like that. I thought it was pretty funny. We use to do that to our jeans in high school. Trendsetters
