Tell me your fav camp shirt pattern for boys :)

***Bumping this up. A post I made before. I really want to make my son some camp shirts. Can anyone help me? Pretty please!? ***********

Anyone ever alter the patterns from the KS book?

I tried to make my son flannel jammies from the XS jacket/woven pattern and the neck was gaping huge! I'm scared to try again. I've made them from the KSFC book just fine. What did I do wrong? Should I just break down and buy the stinking separate pattern?

I am also interested in an easy boy's camp shirt pattern. (Emphasis on it being really easy!) Didn't someone talk about a camp shirt pattern that was easier than KS, with fewer pattern pieces/facings? I usually like KS, and would plan to use that one, but would love it if there was an easier one out there.

Thanks, Kristi! I too, remember someone saying that Tara. Was it McCall's?

So no one has used the KSFC book to make one?

I can't remember who, but someone did a really nice one with KS3146 the other day, and said it was pretty easy. I remember being really impressed with the shirt.

I just checked out KS3146 and it's a toddler pattern. I need more of a 5/6/7 size. I'll try the one Kristi mentioned -- I think I already have it. But I was trying to avoid facings...I'm such a facings wimp.

Tara, if you look on KS website, 3079 is T1-T4, I did find that KS 2951 looks like a good one, it's size 4-12.

I did a campshirt out of Ottobre for Lukes Easter outfit and it was the easiest I have done. I had another pattern but it seemed like the collar pattern just didnt fit right and the sleeves were huge - I dont quite remember what it was though.

Jenn,
Do you know what issue of Ottobre that is? I've been really wanting to try out an Ottobre pattern before getting a sub. Maybe I can hunt that issue down on eBay and try it!

I used a big 3 pattern last year and I really liked it surprisingly enough! I will get the number later, but I think it was a new look.

Tara, it might have been me- I just did a few for Ty with an Ottobre pattern, it was sooooo soooo easy- front, back, collar, sleeves. Went together really really fast!.
