Those are awsome thanks so much. The snow started early here this year and I am so not prepared. Do you know of any Winter hat patterns that are free? Thanks again :-)

ETA: I found one on the Fabricland west site. Thanks so much I really needed to find something like this. Guess what I am doing tomorrow :-)

oh cool! we've already had mitten weather here and as fast as we seem to misplace one mitten out of the pair it will be nice to know how to sew up some extras!

i need to make ds a new pair of mitts.

here's a tip for toddlers' mitts. serge a long "cuff" onto them from the top part of an old pair of socks so the mitts fit up to their elbows. this keeps snow out and makes it harder for little ones to pull off.
