Yep - they should weight the patt in place. I'm lazy and just put my patt down and cut, LOL! It's fine with patternease, but with tissue I think weight would be helpful!

Mine are big square ones -- I like square better to get into corners -- they are from Home Despot and are plenty heavy --- they look bigger than the round ones. One day I'll tool dip them.... one day!

LOL I use canned tuna! I just keep an extra couple of cans around and rotate them out so the tuna doesn't go bad.

I made a set of these when Becky first posted her picture awhile ago.
I put 2 washers in each weight and made 4 weights. I was going to make them for the swap but the washers were like 89 cents each here and they are heavy!

I did the cans for a while but went to washers because they are square and lower profile so you can cut around them easier. Mine were very inexpensive.

Are the square ones in the same section as the washers? And what is a good kind of glue to use?

I'm so excited about this idea. I'm gonna do some for myself and some for the woman who lent me her serger. I have been wracking my brain to figure out what I can do for a thank you gift and this is perfect.

Haven't bought square ones so I don't know, but to glue them together I used silicone sealant like you use for making marble magnets.

You don't need to glue the square ones together. One is adequate.

Jon says he found them in the bracketty stuff used for framing etc section... where the big ties and joist hangers etc are. They weren't very expensive.
