Could someone C&P the sew for orphans instructions?

I have tried for several nights and can't get the patt to open or the instr to download. It just does wacky things to my 'puter.

It's in pdf format, so I'm not sure if it'll C&P or not. I'll try and if it won't work I'll re-type them, they're not that long. I'll post again in a minute.

(Typed, bolded and underlined verbatim from the instructions.)

Baby Overall - Sewing Instructions

GENERAL:
  • All seam allowances are 3/8" (2cm) unless otherwise indicated and should be SERGED or ZIG-ZAGGED.
  • REINFORCE the shoulder bias tape junctions strongly.
  • Ensure bias tape is attached securely.
  • Use a small stitch length for strength and stability.
CONSTRUCTION:
  • Right sides together, match curved part of Foot Pad (C) to curved part on the bottom of one of the legs of the Back Piece (A) and stitch curved portion only. Repeat for the other leg.
  • Right sides together, using the two Back Pieces (A)... match large dots on the center back and stitch from the neckline to the crotch.
  • Right sides together, using the two Front Pieces (B)... match large dots on the center front and stitch from the neck line to the crotch.
  • Right sides together, match large and small dots on the Gusset (D) to the large and small dots at the crotch of the Front Pieces (B). Stitch this portion only to join the Gusset and Front Pieces.
  • Right sides together, match large and small dots on remaining 2 sides of the Gusset (D) to the large and small dots on the legs of the Back Pieces (A). Match remaining portions of the legs and sides of the Back Pieces (A) to the legs and sides of the Front Pieces (B). Stitch together the Front and Back Pieces along the side seams, the legs and the gusset at the crotch.
  • Attach bias tape to neck portions only of the Front and Back Pieces. Next, attach bias tape to the underam portion, being careful to leave at least 10-12" on each end for tying the overalls at the shoulders. Please REINFORCE ALL SHOULDER BIAS TAPE JUNCTIONS and stitch bias.

Super easy! I'm not a very quick sewer but I think the next pair will take 15 minutes tops, from cutting to completion.

Could we use FOE instead of the bias tape, do you think? I definitely can't get out of the house to get bias tape, but thanks to Lisa I've got oodles of FOE I can use :thumb

I think it depends on how stretchy it would be. The instructions say to leave 10"-12" on each end and it's what's used to tie over the shoulders to keep the garment on. If it's not too stretchy to tie, I don't see why it would work

Great - me too! Something about seeing how quickly these sew up has renewed my resolve to make as many as possible. I'm committing to myself to make a certain number each month for at least a year.

Glad they were easy... It encourages me to do it. I did approach our 4H group about making some as a Community Service project.

Where can I buy WIDE WIDTH BIAS TAPE inexpensively?

I'm working on the Aid for Orphans overalls, and need lots of bias tape. I went to Joanns and it was $1.69 for 3 yards! Is there somewhere that I can buy it in bulk for less? TIA!
