If you haven't read about the Ukraine orphanages, please take the time to do so. It has really touched my heart.

I would love to organize some kind of stash game or sewalong for this cause. Does anyone have any ideas of something we can do? They really need cloth diapers and warm clothing. I know we can put something together....throw out some ideas!

There's another post going on about this also, but I think it got buried. I just bumped it up. I say the more that can be done the better! It's such a great cause.

I would love to make some of those little bibs as well as some receiving blankets. I also have a couple of larger dipes that I just made that will never fit my skinny mini shrimpy boy.

Do you know if they want fitteds or flat or prefolds? Tell me exactly what they are accepting so I can get busy

they can take both prefolds and fitteds

I found the page that listed all of the things they could take and upon reading it I realized that I have at least a large cardboard toilet paper box full of items that I can send including 20 pair of new shoes, blankets, dipes, hygiene items, and outerwear.

Now I just have to figure out a way to cover the astronomical shipping cost.

What size prefolds? I have some premiums that are just sitting in the closet. I have a couple fitteds and one size fitteds that we don't need. I also have a ton of receiving blankets that I can send in.

Branwyn, in your first post you said one of the women spearheading this here lives close to you and that maybe you would get stuff shipped to you and then you'd drive it all over to her as one donation from Amity Mamas. Are you talking about just the overalls and flannel or is this woman collecting all donations? I guess I'm wondering what we should send to you and what goes elsewhere. Thanks.

Also, any word on when the pattern will be available? How long from that time until the time you'd like to have the donations to you so you can take them over (for those of us sending to you)?

I don't make diapers, but I can do practically anything else.....

I am game for ordering a roll of killington from Holly, and making blankets, wipes and whatever else needs to be made.

anyone nearby that needs any?

A 50 yard bolt is $90 plus shipping.
The more you buy the cheaper it is, but I really can't afford it right now.....

So if anyone wants any, or wants to pitch in, I will do the sewing. I think a simple serged edge will be fine on the blankets and wipes - and I am anxiously awaiting the overall pattern.

well she lives about 2-3 hours from me, but still in the same state. good question, let me email her and ask what she wants to do about that and i will post here when she writes me back (usually takes a few hours).

as for the overalls pattern, she still has to receive it in the mail and scan it and convert it to pdf. so it will probably be about a week.
i will post back when i hear from her
