A girlfriend asked me to make a gift for some twins she knows, who's birthday party is Saturday. Yes, this is the same friend I made that little back pocket jeans bag to gift. Yes, this is the same friend I made fleece hats for last year to gift. Yes, this friend wanted me to make a crazy hat for her BF. Yes, I am insane
Anyway, good thing I needed to make some summer clothes for DS#2 anyway. First up are tank/shorts sets. Tops are modified KSFT with interlock from fabric.com. Very nice and soft if not the thickest I've seen. Side tags from Serena. Shorts are PRR, used KSFT again and added a side pocket. Each pair has a different part of the print centered on the pocket. These 3 outfits are headed for the dye bath in the morning. I'm planning to use Dylon's Bahama Blue. Hopefully it will come out okay <eek!>.
Then, this morning I wanted Leah to wear a cute dress that we were handed down from Suzanne's DD. It's still a bit chilly for bloomers here, so since I had out the white interlock and cotton thread...
I used the NC Baby Essentials pants in 0-3mo with added length so they'd be more like leggings. ETA: that DH was pretty impressed that I whipped these out this morning in about 15mins or so. He said it was great that I could make them faster than I could wash something she already owns! Here they are on:
Finally, since all the white stuff was already going, I decided that DS#1 and I both could use tanks too. His is KSFC and mine is KSES, both modified to be tanks. I think I'll dye both of these. Carter wants a lizard iron on or two on his, so I'll probably add one to mine as well.
*Yawn*! Thanks for looking.

Wow Heather! Those all look great. What a wonderful friend you are. I hope your dyeing goes well. Can I ask how you modified the patterns to be tanks? Did you just leave the sleeves off? I was thinking of making some for my son for summer.
Hey Niri! What I do for the tanks is to taper in the arm hole up to the shoulder when I'm cutting. For the kids tanks I bring it in by about a little less than an inch. Does that make sense? For mine I actually start the arm hole a little higher than it normally is on the pattern (at the armpit) so my bra won't hang out, and then taper it up so that it's in a little more than an inch at the shoulder. Then I just turn under and hem with a double needle.
Thanks for saying how you modified the kids shirts to tanks, I was just getting ready to ask- so I don't have to trial and error. I am making some tanks for Hannah this summer, FOE straps, and was wondering what patterns I had that would work for Elias to get some tanks too- you solved my problem.
Great sew and show Heather, lovely lovely. I wanna see the bahama blue stuff when its done getting dyed

WTG.. that is a lot of sewing. Can't wait to see them all blue.
Thanks again for the tank top help. You rock. I'm planning on making some next week.. I really think you have a real talent for drafting and altering patterns.
I still swoon at pics of Leah Glad you are getting some use out of E's things.
WOW! Great Job Heather ~ they all look so comfy! I had modifified the KSFC (or Tod.?) for a tank, but mine didnt look as nice, I made the shoulders too wide!

Heather did you adjust the neckline at all for the kiddo tanks? Or did you just cut on the regular neckline, ommiting the ribbing, and turning under and topstitching? How much did you turn under? 1/2"? 1"?
