yeah. that about sums up my attempt at Lorelei's. Hers ended up working great as a bellydance skirt, but wasn't nearly fluffy and light enough for a petti. Might try again now that I have a ruffler, but I'm still wary.
Like how about forgetting to get no fray chiffon and buying 15 yards of FRAYING chiffon. That was just pure genius right there. der.
I owe my mother a pinking rotary blade, my machine may need a tune-up (dropped the needle without centering it for the ruffling foot) and......SHE LOVES IT and I, well, I am all up close and intimate with my new ruffling foot!! lmbo.
off to trim stings because the pinking didn't work so well.....
Lol. I know! that's what I'm worried about. It really is starting to unravel. Yipes.
I really swore I wouldn't make another one but I may eat that. Lmbo.
I don't know. Mental images of a twirling girl are making me rethink my pettiskirt position. I still have a frock coat to finish by Thursday night (just finished the vest this morning-- hooray) or I'd probably picking up material now.
I spose. If she doesn't quit twirling there won't be much left for Halloween nite.
Buuuuuut mooo-om!
Srsly, my mother said that to me, she still remembers. Okay, w/o the halloween part but for a while all I'd wear was "twirly dresses" and "clicky shoes". She'll remember your heroics forever.

You're right. Twirly dresses are a little girls best friend. I think I'll patch and trim this one up to get her thru Halloween. Then order the right kind of chiffon.
Eta; I'm on my phone but later when I'm on computer I'll post the stringy skirt.
and the reality. lol. I clipped it up and sent her trick or treating....
The stings grew, of course, and she came home with leaves and twigs woven into the skirt. gah. Couldn't be saved (again) so it went in yesterday's trash.
I may try again (someday) with the right fabric....
