Did you see my thread for you?? LOL I asked about the chain piecing in there

I just did some searching and found out what chain pieceing meant! I didnt know the triangles weren't going to stay together. I thought I was sewing them altogether to stay that way. But I looked at the next direction and saw that wasnt so.... But when you trim away to make the squares from the triangles... if the ends arent backstitched... arent the stitches going to come undone?

With chain piecing, you leave a little bit of length between the pieces, and you cut on that (so it's not close to the fabric) to seperate them. It won't come undone. Then when you put the pieces together to make your quilt, you will be sewing over those edges anyway.

I'm glad you found out! When DH's Grandma first told me about chain piecing, I was like, "What the heck are you talking about, woman?" It made no sense to me. Then she showed me and I was like, "Hey, now that's a fast way to do it!"
I just found all the instructions tonight, but I'm going to start following now. Looks like fun! I'm going through my stash tonight to find fabrics to do this with.
