Well, as Jo pointed out to me the measurements for the strips are wrong. The strips need to be 1 1/4 inches wide, with a seam allowence of 1/4inch. I am so sorry!! I'm trying to figure out the seam allowence if you already cut your strips. The finished, sewed strips should measure 3 1/4inches.
I am so sorry this has been so complicated!! If you guys want to start another, we can. I know of another quilt that uses strips also. LMK whatcha think?

Re: Ran into a little prob. with the MYSTERY QUILT!!
How LONG do the strips need to be?
Also..............(asked in previous post, but no one answered), can one serge the pieces? Must they be done on a conventional machine, or does one need to do them by hand??? I've tried several times to do quilting, and they never turned out right
TIA

Re: Ran into a little prob. with the MYSTERY QUILT!!
Ok, I have my fabric, but don'y know how to cut it. Do I fold it the way it was when it came off the bolt? I am so sorry that I am so confused over something pretty easy : )

and then they have a 1/4" seam allowance on each side? The finished strips should measure 3 1/4"? Just making sure.
