Munki Munki sns w/ a side of sew-along ~Model Added~

eta model:

-------------------------
I didn't make the other style of skirt that I promised a sew along for yet but will soon. In the meantime I was making this for Tierran's birthday tomorrow and took pics as I went in case anyone was interested. This is a size 4 and hits just below the knee so adjust your #'s up or down as needed.

Cut rectangle 34" x 14". Cut out a 9" x 1" section in each top corner.

Serge a 9.5" piece of 3/4" elastic to the "tab" at the top. Finish both sides and hem bottom.

Flip elastic to inside and top stitch down.

Wrap skirt around so the side edges are about 1.5" from elastic.

Cut waist band 11" x 2". Iron 1/2" in on each small end. Iron in half long way. Iron 1/4" in on each long edge. Sandwich over the front layers just overlapping the end of the elastic and stitch down short edge, along front and back up the other short edge (just over the elastic).

Add ribbon or trim to spruce it up a bit. Make a cute shirt to match.

This looks better on than laying flat. The flower on the shirt is just placed on top but will be sewn on straight soon.

That is a great way to do a fake wrap! Ara really wants one since I made myself one but I wasn't sure how to do it so it would stay up (since my hips are what keep mine up!). I'll have to do that one for her.

I can't believe our girls have a birthday tomorrow. They grow up too fast.

That's so amazingly cute!! Can we see a modelling pic on the birthday girl please?? I think I should try that for Devta, she has been asking me to make her a skirt, but I haven't yet.

And hey at least if I can't visit your house my ex-fabric can! LOL!
