Here are the measurements for the sizes. It is a British pattern and I will be using their sizes. A British size is usually American plus two. So if you are usually a 12 then do the 14.
As always though , measure yourself first to compare....
size w h (in inches)
10 25 34.5
12 26.5 36
14 28 38
16 30 40
18 32 42
20 34 44
cut one piece of fabric in a rectangle
41" long from length and then the width is
40/41.5/43/45/47/49 (depending on size above) -- you may want to check that this is loose enough for you around before you cut. I decided to add a little to mine to make it looser to allow for belly.
So for a size 12 from the table above you would have a 41" length and a 41.5" width rectangle.
I'm in, too I already have some fabric that would be perfect and in all the sewing I've done for everyone else, I've never made anything for me!! hee hee I look forward to getting started!

Ok first step, cut out your rectangle (I cheated and ripped mine, it came out fine).
Next finish all four edges with an overlock or zig zag.
Lastly sew the side seam from the waist to 22" from the bottom (this makes the slit up the back or side). I actually did to 19" because 22 inch was too high on me.
Next step is to press down a 1 1/4" casing for the elastic. Stitch it leaving a gap to thread the elastic through. Measure the elastic around your waist and cut to length. Thread it through then butt joint the ends together and zig zag back and forth, back and forth to join the ends. Sew waistband shut.
Um, I want to do it, but don't want to "waste" my hemp jersey. I might make some with some crappy "what-was-I-thinking" fabric I bought last year though.
Me!! I'm doing it!! I gotta run to Joann's and get some 1" wide elastic, but I've done up to that point I'll post a pic when it's done! It's been a lot of fun
I've started too. I had NO idea what you were talking about before the pic though, LOL! I'm using some grey jersey that I got in the remnant bin. I just KNEW I'd find a use for it! I also need to get some 1" elastic.

ok I'll continue then (o: I made mine out of a piece of crinkly poly cotton my mother gave me one time. Nothing too precious, but I like it! I had enough to make a non nursing tunic style top based on a ELD pattern.
nearly done!
Press sides of split back 5/8" inch, press hem up.... you might like to try it on to decide how long you want it. Instructions say a 2" hem. Press this up.
Sew along hem, around the split and back along hem in one continuous loop
(I'll post a diagram)
Tada!!! Press and try on, show hubby a glimpse of leg *g*

I plan to ... buuuuut.... lol I've got this darn quilt hanging over my head... literally strips hanging over the diningroom table. & I'm needing to get some toothbrushes turned into needles for toothbrush ruging... right? (I've got plenty here to use) and I plan to cut up a bunch of strips.
my plan is that after I finish the top, make the needles, cut the strips, then I can find some fabric to use kwim?
hey I found more of the rainbow striped fabric do you want it? or do you want me to cut it up for rugs? or ????
