how to: mock wrap

nak here...
i made this today

so took a few pics as i went.

cut and paste my "how to" from the other post
took t-shirt pattern I liked and redrew the front- chopping off one shoulder section with a diagonal line that would follow approximately a v-neck angle but go all the way across to a few inches below the opposite armpit

then drew out the piece for the missing shoulder- the bottom part followed the angled line of the "wrap" but was about 3/8" longer

serged the shoulder seams
foe-d the neck line
serged to finish the bottom edge of the little front shoulder piece then :gasp: pinned it just under the foe wrap part

Thanks for the tips and pictures, I've had a mock-wrap top on my to-sew list for a while and this will definitely help. I'm rather fond of that fabric, Lauren wore her yellow mag dress yesterday.

FTR = for the record

I really like that. THe mock wrap tops are eerywhere this season. I just don't know how good it would look on my DD naynays that I *don't* want to draw attention too. LOL

I may have to try it out anyway. Thanks for how-to!

sorry lisa,
i just drafted the piece for the front shoulder:
i traced the shoulder, armcycle, v-neckline for the missing shoulder and then the bottom line of that piece follows the angle of the "wrap" but just a bit longer- 3/8" or so.
