(Updated) Internet blocker program recommendations?

Do you have a program that blocks objectionable websites from being displayed on your computer? My kids are getting their own new computer for Christmas that will be in their shared playroom. I don't feel comfortable hooking it up to the internet unless I have a program that will prevent them from being exposed to nasty pics and other yucky stuff.

Any recommendations?

Thanks mamas!

I asked this just a few days ago.
Only one reply and that was for a report program. I appreciated the reply but by the time the report comes up the kids would have already seen the objectionable stuff I didn't want them to see.
Internet Explorer has one built in click content tab. The other browsers I'm not sure about.

Hmmm...thanks for replying.

Anyone else??? I'd really like to find a blocking program that works.

I wonder what they use at schools. My kids get on the internet at school so I bet they use some kind of filter or blocker program. I asked one of my dd's teachers and he didn't know any specifics like the name of the program.

I found this site that compares different filtering software programs. Has anyone used any of these programs?

Just wanted to update in case anyone else is interested...

I downloaded a free 14 day trial of ContentProtect (available from Content Watch ) and it is awesome! This software is easy to use and it works! All my kids now have to sign in when they use the internet (the youngest just has to click on her name/icon) and then they are prohibited from viewing anything objectionable. I set up all the filters and time restrictions etc... and it was very very easy.

When my free trial is up I'm definitely buying this. It's regularly $29.99 but I see that it's on sale right now for $19.99 through December 31st! Woo hoo!!!

HTH someone!
