Question I need help regarding computer viruses and safety maintenance.

So I ran a McAfee freescan last night and it showed four viruses, all of which it described as low-risk Trojans. I had run Symantec's free scan about a month ago on the advice of someone here, and it had shown two of these viruses, but my problem is I don't know what to do now:

How do I get rid of them (VBS/PSME, W32/Sdbot.worm.germ, IRC-Sdbot, and QHosts-2)? Symantec offers a removal for the last one, but not the others, as far as I can tell.

What should I be doing to protect myself? I read somewhere that computer safety maintenance takes a couple hours a week--what are other people doing? I have no clue.

Popups are becoming a problem (again--the google anti-popup thing doesn't seem to be working)--any free suggestions for this?

Thanks,
Hana

Sherry from Flicker n SUds shared this with me:

It takes awhile to run, but it's free and it caught (and removed) the new virus a week or so ago.
I also use AVG virus scan.

we have norton & also i run AdAware & Spybot on a daily basis ~ never have pop ups or viruses (knock on wood)

there is a great site that someone here...can't remember whom at the moment (toni/rainedazze maybe?) directed me to that helped a ton... it is like the tech guy dot com, or something similar... they have entire forums where you can ask computer questions & they *really* helped me out - cleaned up our system & added a few things (free) and haven't had a prob since.

goodluck!
