I prefer circulars, even if I'm knitting something flat. It just feels more natural. I want to make a ribbed hat for dh, so I decided to actually make use of my circulars. Everything went fine and I did 10 or 12 rounds before I realized it wasn't making ribbing.

I know there has to be a simple solution....LOL So how do you do ribbing in the round?

You just need to do K2P2 or whatever your rib pattern calls for like you were knitting flat and join the work. The trick is to CO a multiple of 4 so that where you joined your rib pattern keeps flowing right along instead of turning to seed stitch. So if you are doing K2P2, your last stitches before you join the yarn should be P2. Does that make sense?

makes total sense. Thanks! I made 10 rows of seed stitch and couldn't figure out why...lol
So you still knit your knits and purl your purls, right?

Yup. Once you get a couple of rows down you can really start to tell where you are supposed to K and P if you get lost.

Thanks Amy! I'm trying to find some dh worthy yarn and then I will start it. Right now I'm working on a ribbed hat for the little girl I babysit, but it has a seam up the back. I should be done with it this evening and then I can post a KnS!! I'm so exited! I've never done that. lol
